BROWARD COUNTY LEADERS RAISE OVER HALF A MILLION TO HONOR CANCER SURVIVORS AT THE LEUKEMIA & LYMPHOMA SOCIETY MAN & WOMAN OF THE YEAR GRAND FINALE
Winners to compete for national title

Fiftteen of Broward County’s most influential business and community leaders raised $580,067 in the fight against cancer for critical funds for research, patient care, and advocacy for the South Florida Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma 2019 Man & Woman of the Year Grand Finale on Saturday, June 15th, at the Marriott Harbor Beach Hotel.

2019 Fort Lauderdale Man and Woman of the Year are Camille Olivere, Senior Vice President of Sales for Norwegian Cruise Line raising $279,671 and Clayton Idle, Associate Publisher for South Florida Business & Wealth Magazine raising $102,164. They will go on to compete for the national title, which will be announced later in the summer.Year after year, individuals take on the challenge to raise the most funds during a 10-week philanthropic competition that launched on Tuesday, April 9 and culminated on Saturday, June 15.

“Congratulations to our winners, and to all of our candidates and campaign team members who participated in this year’s Man & Woman of the Year campaign,” said DeAnn Hazey, LLS Executive Director. “These exceptional volunteers are all passionate and determined individuals, and leaders in their communities. Together, we are getting closer to LLS’s goal of a world without blood cancer.”

This year’s fundraising campaign was in honor of two patient heroes who are both Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia survivors, the 2019 Boy and Girl of the Year: Jaylen Hyde, age 13 and Vivienne Salvatoriello, age 5.2019
