REBUILDING TOGETHER BROWARD’S TOOL BOX BRUNCH RAISES OVER $9,500

Over 100 business leaders, social notables and supporters of Rebuilding Together Broward came together at Beauty and the Feast, a new restaurant inside of The Atlantic Hotel on Fort Lauderdale Beach. Guests of the event joined Sandra Veszi Einhorn, Executive Director of Rebuilding Together Broward, and other Rebuilding Together Broward Board Members, for a buffet style brunch that included a “build your own waffle” bar and Rebuilding Together screwdrivers courtesy of 360 Vodka. Additional sponsors included MGM General Contracting, Coldwell Banker, America’s Mortgage Professionals and Hartzell Painting Contractors.

The event, which included a fabulous raffle, raised over $9,500 for the non-profit organization. Proceeds from the event will directly benefit Rebuilding Together Broward’s ongoing work of making homes safe and healthy for some of the most vulnerable – low-income elderly and disabled homeowners, as well as veterans.

“What a way to end the summer. The weather was terrific, the venue was great, everyone was having a great time and we were able to raise awareness for our cause. You can’t ask for much more of a charity event.” said Sandra Veszi Einhorn, Executive Director of Rebuilding Together Broward. “Rebuilding Together Broward is dedicated to helping those in our community who are less fortunate, so we are extremely thankful to everyone who helps to make this happen.”

When asked about the outcome of the brunch, event chair Maggie Gunther had this to say. “If we can fix the home of just one more deserving person, or recruit just one more volunteer to the cause, we were successful. Something tells me we’ve done much more.”

Since 2003, Rebuilding Together Broward has rehabilitated nearly 400 homes and community centers, investing more than $3,500,000 into the community. The non-profit organization brings volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of low income homeowners. Targeting low income elderly and disabled homeowners, as well as veterans, Rebuilding Together Broward seeks to restore safe and healthy housing by providing home repairs and safety modifications at no cost to the homeowners. Rebuilding Together Broward has been one of over 160 affiliates serving communities across the nation. While Rebuilding Together Broward assists needy homeowners year-round, they also organize their signature event, “National Rebuilding Day” held on the last Saturday in April. Volunteers, sponsors, private sector, municipal agencies, civic organizations and many others get together to refurbish homes and non-profit facilities in the community.
