United Way of Broward County’s Women’s Leadership Council Hosted 3rd Annual Magnolia Luncheon

United Way of Broward County’s Women’s Leadership Council hosted its 3rd Annual Magnolia Luncheon on Wednesday, May 21, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the Signature Grand in Davie. The annual event which recognizes women of dignity, strength, and perseverance, will this year we honored Gale Butler and Enterprise Holdings, Inc.

Formed in 2010, The Women’s Leadership Council was created to encourage women leaders within the community to pledge a commitment to United Way of Broward County. Together, the more than 500 women who currently contribute $1,000 or more annually to United Way of Broward County, account for more than $1 million of the total contributions raised through the organization’s annual workplace campaign. Each year the women’s council focuses their efforts on specific priority United Way projects.

The 3rd Annual Magnolia Luncheon presented Gale Butler with the Magnolia Leadership Award to recognize the remarkable impact she has had on our community through her hard work, dedication and philanthropic efforts. While at AutoNation she was responsible for community relations and charitable donations within the South Florida community. She was the founding chair of the Women’s Leadership Council of United Way of Broward, and set the highest example of what it means to be a woman community leader in Broward County. She previously served on the boards of Take Stock In Children, The Greater Fort Lauderdale/ Broward Alliance, Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County, American Red Cross, The Salvation Army, the Bonnet House, and The Tower Club. A Fort Lauderdale native, Gale graduated from the University of Miami with a bachelor’s degree in English and a minor in History.

The Corporate Philanthropy Award was presented to Enterprise Holdings, Inc. Enterprise was selected as the recipient based on its high number of female Leadership Donors and company-wide commitment to United Way of Broward County and the community.

Laurie Jennings, Local 10 News Anchor of Miami will serve as the event’s Master of Ceremonies. Event co-chairs for the Magnolia Luncheon include Rosy Lopez of Greenspoon Marder, and Stella Tokar, from BOLD Consulting. Host committee members include Kim Bentley, Elizabeth Cambareri, Kathleen Cannon, Betsi Kassebaum, Lisa Kitei, Jen Klaassens, Susie Levan, Paula Levenson, Chris Madsen, Ginny Miller, Stacy Ostrau, Arlene Pecora, Robin Sterne, and Kim Sweers.
