Symphony of the Americas Society Gala Roaring 20’s Extravaganza
Dressed for the 1920’s or 2020 as you enjoyed the dynamic yet intimate atmosphere of an updated Speakeasy
The Symphony of the Americas Society, a fundraising arm of the award-winning Symphony of the Americas (SOTA), a festive Roaring 20’s event at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23rd at the newly-opened Speakeasy at Sistrunk Marketplace & Brewery, 115 Northwest 6th Street in Fort Lauderdale. The Society’s first fund-raiser of the new year looked-ahead/looking-back celebration with live music, dancing, cocktails, craft beer brewed on-site and food tastings of the Sistrunk Marketplace – all with a creative, nostalgic Roaring 20’s feel. The event chairs are Gloria Jacaruso, Anita Kotler and Giuliana Hirshson.
“As we welcomed 2020, it was a natural to harken back to the magical time that was the Roaring 20’s a century ago as we kick off our fund-raising for the new year,” said Nancy Voneida, Society board chairman. “The evening was a wonderful time to see familiar faces and say hello to new ones in a truly festive atmosphere. Society members and non-members are all were ewelcomde to attend. Dressed for the 1920’s or 2020, your choice.”
The Roaring 20’s event was sponsored by Society Co-President Bonnie Mason along with community sponsors Breakthru Beverage Group, Pompano Beach Minuteman Press, Coral Ridge Yacht Club and Sistrunk Marketplace & Brewery.
The Symphony of the Americas is a designated Major Cultural Institution in Broward County and a Broward Center for the Performing Arts performance partner. Founded in 2003, the Society presents special fund-raising events to ensure that world-class music continues to thrive in South Florida and enrich the lives of the community through the wonderful power of music. The Society members meet monthly to plan new events and conduct business.
