On Monday, October 28, the Signature Grand was transformed into a 100,000 square-foot haunted mansion for the 18th Annual Signature Grand Ghoul benefitting 211 Broward, the gateway to over 1,000 of Broward County’s nonprofits, connecting residents to the most appropriate program.  Their Broward County hotline connects residents with trained crisis specialists who assess callers’ situations and provide links to available community resources. The evening soirée was presented by Calvin Giordano & Associates and raised more than $50,000. Event hosts included sports personalities from the popular podcast “The Fish Tank”: Former Miami Dolphins player O.J. McDuffie and Executive Director of the Jason Taylor Foundation, Seth Levit.

More than 500 people attended the event including Miami Dolphins alumni, other NFL alumni and local celebrities. Guests put on creative costumes and their dancing shoes for a night of music, dancing and cocktails. Among the NFL Alumni and local Dolphins Alumni in attendance were Dr. Hervé Damas (Buffalo Bills), Kerry Glenn (Miami Dolphins and New York Jets), Mark Higgs (Miami Dolphins, Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, Arizona Cardinals), Jocelyn Borgella (Detroit Lions), LaMonte Coleman (Pittsburgh Steelers), Shawn Wooden (Miami Dolphins) and Terry Kirby (Miami Dolphins).

“It’s always an honor to be the benefactor of such a fun event and be able to raise funds for our comprehensive hotline,” said Sheila Smith, President & CEO of 211 Broward. “The event truly brings the community together in a fun spooky-themed way and as always we are grateful to the Signature Grand, our sponsors and everyone who attended.”

Throughout the night, judges selected costume contest finalists based on costume creativity, fear factor and originality, with prizes going to first, second and third place winners. The silent auction, which featured more than 100 items including vacations and flight packages also contributed to the grand total raised for 211 Broward.

“211 Broward is a wonderful organization that impacts many lives in our community,” said Deanna McCutcheon, of Signature Grand. “We are grateful for the tremendous community support we receive each year for this event and its continued success.
