16TH ANNUAL SIGNATURE GRAND GHOUL RAISES OVER $63,000
FOR 2-1-1 BROWARD
On Monday, October 30th, the Signature Grand was transformed into Blackbeard’s Ball to host the 16th Annual Signature Grand Ghoul. Benefitting 2-1-1 Broward, the event was hosted by former Miami Dolphins wide receiver O.J. McDuffie and Kavita Channe from VIP TV.
More than 600 attendees, including Miami Dolphins alumni, local celebrities and notables gathered for a night of music, dancing, cocktails and costumes to raise a grand total of over $63,000 for 2-1-1 Broward. Broward County’s 2-1-1 hotline connects residents with trained crisis specialists who assess the caller’s situation and provide the link to available community resources. NFL alumni were also in attendance including Kerry Glenn, Mark Higgs, Orande Gadsden, Ki-Jana Carter, Frank Boudreaux, Brian “Bo” O’Neil, Larry Chester, Lamonte Coleman, Darrell Fullington, and Jamar Newsome.
“Once again it was an honor to have been chosen as the recipient for this year’s Signature Grand Ghoul,” said Sheila Smith, President & CEO of 2-1-1 Broward. “We are grateful for our sponsors and everyone who attended and helped raise these necessary funds to support our 24-hour, comprehensive hotline.”
The Signature Grand was transformed into a 100,000-square-foot haunted mansion by Special Event Decorators. Attendees outfitted in over-the-top costumes enjoyed a memorable night featuring an open bar, a gourmet buffet with various food stations, an exclusive VIP area, music by Complete Weddings & Events and a variety of entertainment.
Throughout the night, judges selected costume contest finalists based on costume creativity, fear factor and originality, with prizes going to first, second and third place winners. The silent auction, which featured more than 100 marvelous items, experiences and prize packages also contributed to the grand total raised for 2-1-1 Broward.
“It’s truly amazing how much community support we received this year for our Signature Grand Ghoul,” said Arlene Pecora, owner of Signature Grand. “2-1-1 Broward is a wonderful organization that impacts lives in our community for the better, and are honored to be this year’s event sponsor.”
Event sponsors included Signature Grand, Calvin, Giordano & Associates, Greenspoon Marder Law, Kip Hunter Marketing, Memorial Healthcare System, One of a Kind Designs, Signature Grand, Southern Audio Visual, PSAV, Complete Wedding and Event, Brown & Brown Insurance, Botaniko Weston, BreakThru Beverage Group, Sysco South Florida, Stonegate Bank, Holman Enterprises, LaCroix, Publix Super Market Charities, Miami Dolphins Foundation, MBAF, and Chase Roofing.
