“Get Fired Up!” with Pinion
On Friday, November 17, 2017, Fort Lauderdale Firefighters united with Pinion at the Fort Lauderdale Fire and Safety Museum (1022 West Las Olas Boulevard) for their first ever “Red Hot” Firehouse party from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.!
Committee: Andrea Kimpel, Chair, Lisa Spaulding, Co-Chair, Linda Danoff, Valerie Kowanetz, Linda Spaulding White, Jane Brand-Eagon!
“Get Fired Up!” with Pinion was a first annual fall event in lieu of the traditional Holiday Event. Supporters sounded the alarm, grabbed their gear and squad and joined Pinion, benefiting Special Olympics of Broward County for a fun evening celebrating the community. The firehouse theme was beautifully presented from the adorable firefighter boot centerpieces to the bagpiper with his Dalmatian, Briny!
This new fall event featured three live auction items that raised just under $3,000. Live auction items featured a hand-crafted and signed one-of-a-kind knife set from Dexter Knives, a “stock your holiday bar” themed red wagon adorned with a large plush Dalmation named Whiskey, and a week’s stay at the Marriott Ocean Pointe Vacation Club on Singer Island.
Guests enjoyed the comfort food delights of McFatter Technical College, which included five alarm chili, chicken Parmesan subs and fresh guacamole with chips. Two premium stocked bars, a live DJ and dancing kept the spirits alive all night long. Firemen rookies, on duty firefighters, and fire trucks mixed and mingled with guests to evoke a sense of community support for the evening.
The event raised almost $7000 for Pinion – Special Olympics Broward.
All proceeds directly support Special Olympics Broward County to help these very special athletes’ dreams come true.
The next Pinion event will be a Pinion Passion Hour on December 5th at the Blue Martini in Fort Lauderdale.
