There is a Sheriff in Town Pinion Special Olympic luncheon
On May 20, 2021, Capital Grille Ft Lauderdale at the Galleria Mall. Pinion hosted its first luncheon since 2020. This event was chaired by Alice M. Harry, Vanessa Lopez De Lalla and Mirtha Toledo Hackley, in addition to Linda Danoff.
The Chairs were assisted by Anne Allen, Debbie Ducas, Karen Gouveia, Leslie Fischer, Sonya Mayo, Pamela Rivera Patti Kearson & Lee Sheffield. Thank you to Kathy Keleher who donated her talents to design our invitations and to Anne Scharf for creating our beautiful auction baskets
Pinion was able, through ticket sales, Chinese auction and a very exciting Live auction raise over $9,5000.00 to support the Broward County Special Olympics.
The event started at 11:00 am with a cocktail hour followed by a luncheon and auction from noon – 2:00 pm.
This year’s luncheon featured a Chinese Auction featuring a gift certificate to the soon to be reopened Timpano, dinner for 2 at the Tower Club and a Spirit/Wine wagon valued at over $ 500.
In addition there was a Live Auction – showcasing 2 pairs of tickets to the Winterfest Boat ParadeGrand Marshall Reception in addition to a gift certificate to along with another dinner for two from the Tower Club.
As the guests entered the restaurant, they were offered a welcome cocktail called a Salty Saddle. This was a theme cocktail created by Capital Grille. It featured fresh grapefruit juice, vodka and a Tajinisalted rim.
Sheriff Tony, from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, was our opening master of ceremony. He thanked our outgoing President Vanessa Lopez DaLalla and greeted our incoming president Linda Mills. He also spoke words of encouragement and BSO’s continued support to Special Olympic before turning over the microphone.
The Wine and welcoming cocktail for the luncheon were sponsored by Doug Eagan and Janey Brand Eagan, Patti Kearson and David Reisen of Reisen Construction Inc.
Primo Liquors, who the wine and vodka were purchased through, has committed to donating 10% of all purchases made in the Pinion name will be donated back to Pinion– Special Olympics. This offer will be valid through the month of June. You must mention Pinion –Special Olympics to activate the donation.
All proceeds from Pinions year-round FUN raising are donated to support Special Olympics Broward County to help these very special athletes’ dreams come true.
The next event for Pinion will be the Passion Hour at 5:30 PM on June 14, 2022 at Mickey’s Downtown, 4331 N Ocean Drive, Lauderdale By The Sea.The Pinion Passion Hours allow our members to connect every month during happy Hour. The cost of the event for members is $10.00.
Guests are welcome to join the Passion Hour too! The cost for Guests $20.00 and $15 Members
