Third Annual “A Garden Party” Raises Funds for Birch State Park 

On Friday, October 19^th, The Friends of Birch State Park Hosted “A Garden Party” at the Sonesta Fort Lauderdale Beach in its Infinity Ballroom overlooking Hugh Taylor Birch State Park. This year’s event raised funds to support the Friends of Birch State Park and its continued efforts to enhance the park. Proceeds raised were matched dollar for dollar up to $50,000 by Friends of Birch State Park board chair Jim Ellis of Ellis Diversified, Inc.

The Hostess Committee included: Tracy Dunn, Peggy Olin Fucci, Heather Geronemus, Alice Jackson, Janet Jordan, Meghan Leckey, Dawn Read, Julie Saumsiegle, Ashley Sawyer Smith, Jane Smith, Nancy Thies and Lorraine Thomas. Gordon Latz served as auctioneer.

I Lorraine Thomas was the presenting sponsor of this year’s event. Additional sponsors included Ellis Diversified, Inc.; ACURE; The Las Olas Company; Morgan Stanley; Ultimate Software; One World Properties; LaCroix; Moss Construction; Bank of America; and Daoud’s Fine Jewelry.
