CROCKETT FOUNDATION RAISES $120,000 AT ITS

 5TH ANNUAL DERBY DAYS PREAKNESS PARTY 

The Crockett Foundation hosted its 5th Annual Derby Days Preakness Party at Ten Palms located at Gulfstream Park on Saturday, May 20th. More than 250guests, including celebrities, local notables and dignitaries attended the event, which raised $120,000 to benefit the Crockett Foundation’s youth mentoring and tutorial programs.

Celebrity guests included Crockett Foundation founders and former NFL Players, Henri and Zack Crockett, and other former professional athletes – William Floyd, former San Francisco 49ers player and Super Bowl champion; Cornelius Bennett, former NFL player for the Indianapolis Colts, Atlanta Falcons and Buffalo Bills; Jessie Tuggle, former All-Pro Linebacker for the Atlanta Falcons; Doug Chapman, former NFL player for the Minnesota Vikings and retired NBA and Miami Heat player, Eddie Jones. Also in attendance were Broward County Commissioner Chip LaMarca and Michael Udine; and Miramar Mayor Wayne Messam. 

The program was introduced by CBS4 Sports Anchor, Jim Berry,who served as the emcee for the evening. Crockett Foundation’s Executive Director, Eileen LaMarca,took the stage to honor Volunteer of the Year, Mary Kaub,for he rcontribution of time and resources in support of the Crockett Foundation. Henri and Zack Crockett welcomed guests and shared with them the Foundation’s mission to help build character, develop leaders, and improve communities – one child at a time.

During the evening, guests enjoyed Black-eyed Susan welcome cocktails, open bar courtesy of Breakthru Beverage, DJ courtesy of American Social, elaborate buffet style dinner and dessert station and an interactive photo booth sponsored by FunClick.

While drinking and dining, gueststuned in to watch Cloud Computing pass the fan favorite, Always Dreaming to win the 142ndPreakness. The event also included a silent auction andlive auction, featuring a trip to Cuba. All proceeds from the event benefitted the Crockett Foundation’s youth mentoring and tutorial programs.
