The Charity Guild of Fort Lauderdale hosted its Annual Spring Luncheon, Keep Calm and Sail On, at The Westin Beach Resort and Spa on Friday, April 4, 2014 with over 350 guests in attendance. The luncheon co-chairs included Heather Carroll, Pat Doering, and Maria O’Neill.

Over 50 dedicated women of Charity Guild are continuing a 62-year legacy of supporting the neediest and less fortunate children in Broward County. The Mission Statement of The Charity Guild is to raise funds to provide health care and social services for medically fragile, disadvantaged and emotionally challenged children in Broward County for the Children’s Diagnostic & Treatment Center and Kids in Distress.

Guests were welcomed with a complimentary glass of champagne. A photobooth captured guests in their creative flair. Guests had the opportunity to win spectacular raffle baskets including a 7 Day Caribbean Cruise for 2 onboard Princess Cruises!

The afternoon began with a speaker from Kids in Distress who had been through their HEART program. Charity Guild President, Laura Minor, reached out to guests to give a “Gift from the Heart.” 100% of all funds raised at the luncheon are distributed equally to Kids in Distress and Children’s Diagnostic and Treatment Centers.

The guests enjoyed a fashion show presented by John Casablancas Modeling and Career Center and mTm-Model and Talent Management. The fashions worn by the models were provided by Lilac and Lilies Boutique which is located at 2541 East Sunrise Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale. Country Squire provided the men’s clothing and they are located at 4404 North Ocean Drive, Lauderdale By-the-Sea. Guests were able to purchase the clothing during the luncheon as a percentage of sales would benefit The Charity Guild.

Charity Guild had the pleasure of having Premier Beverage as the wine sponsor for the luncheon and LaCroix Beverages, the sparkling water sponsor.

Charity Guild wishes to thank their Gold Anchor Sponsors: Acure – Acure for your skin, Acure for the planet; LaCroix; Premier Beverage; Princess Cruises Community Foundation; and Seminole Tribe of Florida.
