More than 275 ladies slipped into their stilettos and joined together at the 1st Annual Wine Women & Shoes presented by Publix Charities for a day of shopping and fun with the common purpose of supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County.

Attendees were treated to a never-before-seen fashion show featuring Lilac and Lilies. They also enjoyed a sophisticated day of wine tastings, a live auction featuring lavish trips and experiences, a silent auction featuring amazing products and retail goodies, a fashion marketplace and a fashion show presented by Ed Morse Automotive Group.

Guests had the opportunity to hear from Alexus, who is the current “Youth of the Year” for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County. Alexus told an emotional story from her childhood and how being a member of the Boys & Girls Clubs helped her succeed in school and achieve her goals.

The luncheon was also highlighted by “Shoe Guys” representing a variety of local companies, whose job for the day was to assist all of the ladies in attendance.

One winner went home with a new closet valued at over $10,000, including $2,500 worth of furniture from the “Key to the Closet” sponsor City Furniture. Four fashionistas were awarded with Velvet Sunglasses for winning the “Best in Shoe” contest and one Shoe Guy was crowned the “King of Sole” for fundraising the most money on behalf of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County.
