Original concert piece inspired by Magic City, performed on 10 grand pianos at Barry University

Composed by Michael Torke, titled ‘Miami Grands’ international pianists took stage and simultaneously played on 10 grand pianos for extravagant production

 Ten world-renowned pianists including Barry University professors will took to the stage on Sunday, April 27 at 7 p.m. in a 10-grand piano debut performance.

An original concert piece inspired by Miami featured movements that will highlight the city’s diverse landscapes, culture, and people.

The large-scale event, presented by the Miami Piano Circle and Barry University, featured renowned composer Michael Torke, who has been commissioned by organizations such as the Walt Disney Co., the New York Philharmonic, PBS and the International Olympic Committee.

Pianists performed selections arranged for a 10-piano ‘orchestra,’ which included movements such as “The Everglades,” “South Beach,” “Star Island,” “Mojitos & Stilettos,” and “Coconut Grove,” among others to over 400 guests.

The ‘Miami Grands’ original concert piece included pianists who have played around the globe, including Carnegie Hall, Teatro di Marcello in Rome, and New York’s Lincoln Center. Georgi Danchev will conduct pianists Mia Vassilev, Kristin Camacho, Dionisio Camacho, Jamila Tekalli, Stepan Rudenko, Alan Ngim, Daniel Manoiu, Asiya Korepanova as well as Dranoff International 2 Piano Competition winning duo Stephanie Ho, and Saar Ahuvia.

RSVP Tickets for $100 Grand Seating and included reserved seats in first five rows of auditorium and pre-performance VIP reception with composer and conductor while $20 Preferred Seating included opening reception and general admission seating.
