American Red Cross Broward County Hosted Dine & Dock Celebrity/CEO & Experience Auction 2018 Humanitarian Awards on September 27  

On Thursday, September 27th, 2018 at Pier Sixty-Six Hotel & Marina, the Broward County’s American Red Cross Chapter held its annual Dine & Dock Celebrity/CEO and Experience Auction 2018 Humanitarian Awards. This once-a-year signature event is the single largest fundraising event for the Broward Chapter of the American Red Cross.

The event began with an ultra-chic VIP Reception (5:30p.m.) in the marina boasting chic lounges overlooking a beautiful sunset with gorgeous intracoastal views.  

Guests can mix and mingle with access to the VIP Celebrities/CEOs that created exciting personal auction experiences. Champagne and appetizers will be served during this exceptional affair. The networking Welcome Reception hosted by JM Family Enterprises, Inc. (6:30p.m.) was held in the foyer of the beautiful Panorama room; guests will enjoy a variety of delicious food stations and fabulous cocktails along with more networking and access to local celebrities and CEOs. 

 At 7:30p.m. Event Chair, Alexandra Bader, kicked off the program as the Humanitarian Honorees receive their prestigious awards. This year Barry Skolnick along with First Responders – Frank Herrera (Margate Fire Rescue), Captain Matthew Whiteshield (Margate Fire Rescue), Captain Monica Maldonado (Oakland Park Fire Rescue), and Samuel Willson II (Oakland Park Fire Rescue) were presented with the 2018 Humanitarian Award. All honorees embody the spirit of the American Red Cross through their contributions to the welfare and quality of life of the South Florida residents. Following the Humanitarian Awards will be high energy powerhouse VIP Celebrity auction. Guests had an opportunity to bid on Celebrity/CEO auction experiences from the following:  

  • Elaine del Valle, Award Winning Actor, Writer, Director and Producer
  • Mathias Kiwanuka, Vice-President and COO Wandering Wines – Former NFL Player
  • Randy Ramsey, Co-founder and President of Jarrett Bay Boatworks
  • Carol Strickland, CEO Mermaid Vodka
  • Carey Chen, World Renown Marine Artist
  • John Lloyd, Commentator and Former Pro Tennis Player
  • Chef Geppert, Private Chef

All proceeds raised from this event benefit the American Red Cross aiding in our response to local disasters, ranging from home fires that affect a single family to hurricanes that affect tens of thousands. In these events, the Red Cross provides shelter, food, and comfort to assist families and entire communities in their time of need.
