Victory Living Programs Raises More Than $12,000
at Annual “Queen Witch for the Day” Luncheon

Each year, costumes, champagne, a gourmet lunch, and a lot of laughs is what the annual “Queen Witch for the Day” event is all about – and this year was no different!

Victory Living Programs (VLP), a nonprofit organization that helps individuals with disabilities live a more independent life, hosted this annual “tongue in cheek” pageant on October 28, 2015 at the Fort Lauderdale Country Club.

“The Queen Witch for the Day luncheon is not your typical fundraiser,” states Bobbi Wigand, Executive Director. “Our goal is to have as much fun as possible and really let our attendees tap into their creativity with developing their witch costumes.”

This year the event raised more than $12,000 to benefit the Fort Lauderdale-based nonprofit. The “Queen Witch for the Day” title went to Michelle Pfiel, the runner up was Jan Park and “2015 Best Table” was awarded to “The Green Witches Table.”

For the third consecutive year, Akerman LLP sponsored this event. Just as they have done every year, since the inception of the event, Premier Beverage donated the champagne.

“I would be remiss if I didn’t thank our hilarious MC Amanda Austin from LIPS and our esteemed judges, Lisa Scott Founds, Gary Correll, Nila Do Simon, Paula Reto, and Eduardo Alvarez” said Wigand.

Proceeds from the event will contribute to Victory Living’s daily, year-round programs such as the supported living program, adult day training program, supported employment program and the social and recreational program.
