The Magic of the Minions of Pinion

On October 14, 2016,Capital Grille Ft Lauderdale at the Galleria Mall (2430 East Sunrise Blvd )Pinion kicked off their annual membership luncheon. This luncheon, which starts the social year for Pinion, was chaired byLisa Scott Founds, Lee Sheffield, Kitty McGowan and Alice Harry.

The theme featured the ever popular Minions of the movie ”Despicable Me”.

 

Minions never operate alone. The same falls true for Pinion Committees! The Chairs were assisted by Anne Allen, Gwen Cook, Barbara Corrao, Kathy Keleher, Sonya Mayo, Patricia Kearson.

This luncheon is a sell out event every year and this year proved to be no different.

The event started at 11:00 am with a cocktail hour followed by a luncheon and auction from noon – 2:00 pm.

This year’s luncheon featured three live auctions;

Chinese Auction

  • Silent Auction – which featured a beautiful jewelry box donated by Daouds Jewelers.
  • Live Auction – showcased 2 pairs of tickets to the Winterfest Boat ParadeGrand Marshall Reception. This year the Reception is featuring PitBull as the Grand Marshall
  • Minion Celebrity Bob( or was that Kevin? ) was on hand at the Pinion Step and Repeat for photo opportunities.

Captain Lee of Below Deck, along with his lovely wife Maryanne, also joined the Minions of Pinions for lunch.

As the guests entered the Restaurant they were offered Guests aMiniontini; a blue and yellow theme cocktail created by Capital Grille. The Miniontini’sfeaturedRussian Standard Vodka.

All the Wine and the Russian Standard Vodka for the luncheon were provided a by Republic National Distributors.

At noon, the guests entered in the room,which was decorated in Minion Bluelinens,  donated by Atlas Party Rental.

The guests also noted an abundance of… Bananas!

Bananas, which are a true love of Minions,were everywhere.

Each guest received a Minion stickered banana at their place setting, Guests found more bananas in the center of their tables and accenting the items on the auction table. All of the bananas were donated by Fresh Point Produce.

During the lunch, Larry Greenberg the Magician, Hypnotist & Mentalist, delighted and amazed the guests.

The event raised over $8000 for Pinion- Special Olympics.
