On August 23, 2013 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Pinion, Benefiting Special Olympics, celebrated under the stars as they raised funds for Special Olympics and its very special Athletes. Presented by Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort, Pinion’s annual summer FUNdraiser was a Hawaiian Luau, featuring cocktails, food, music and dancing poolside at the fabulous oceanfront Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort.

Pinion, Inc. is the financial arm of Special Olympics Broward County, providing the funds needed to give children and adults with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to participate in year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports. The program offers these special athletes continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, fellow Special Olympics athletes and the community.

Revelers  danced under the stars, gazed at the ocean vista, and enjoyed tropical cocktails, a traditional Hawaiian kalua pig roast and Hawaiian fire and hula entertainment, while dancing to the fabulous spinning tunes of renowned DJ Nova. The event featured fabulous silent and live auction prizes. All proceeds directly support Special Olympics Broward County to help these very special athletes’ dreams come true.
