JESSICA JUNE CHILDREN’S CANCER FOUNDATION
SOLD OUT 10TH ANNIVERSARY PARTY
EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – Enthusiastic guests crowded into Vibe Las Olas with one thought in mind: Beating Cancer Together. The Jessica June Children’s Cancer Foundation (JJCCF) hosted its 10th Anniversary Party as part of a campaign to raise $200,000 in 200 days. The event raised $90,500, with 100% of the proceeds going to South Florida children who are fighting cancer.

The party mesmerized everyone with sexy gold painted dancers moving to the beat of Live EDM Led Drumming and Bollywood Fusion Fitness’ surprise performance. Throughout the night, guests took the GO-GOLD challenge of having their faces or body parts painted by a professional artist in support of childhood cancer awareness. Party goers danced the night away while enjoying an open bar courtesy of Premier Beverage and Bacardi, and complimentary hors d’oeuvres from YOLO. The silent auction included a Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana all inclusive vacation; Atlantis, Bahamas vacation; Holland America Line cruise, several Ritz-Carlton packages and Deco-style gold diamond and onyx earrings by Daoud’s Fine Jewelry.

“The Anniversary Party exceeded my expectations thanks to our partners, volunteers, staff and community support,” said Muvdi. “Everyone had a great time while raising important dollars. Although we only had two months to plan the event, we definitely knocked it out of the park!  I was excited to celebrate our milestone 10th anniversary and to celebrate life.”

The Beating Cancer Together campaign was launched in May, 2014. With $90,500 raised at the event, the Jessica June Children’s Cancer Foundation is within $25,000 of reaching its goal. The campaign provides opportunities for organizations big or small, businesses and individuals to join founder, Sandra Muvdi, in her quest to raise funds that are distributed directly to assist families fighting childhood cancer.

The Foundation provides emergency financial relief for basic needs such as medical, utility, shelter, transportation, and food. Having served more than 2,500 children and family members, and raised in excess of $1.6 million, Muvdi launched the Beating Cancer Together campaign in commemoration of its 10 years of service to the South Florida community. “I am optimistic that we will reach our goal,” said Muvdi.

Sponsors that helped make the 10th Anniversary Party a success include title partner, The Wasie Foundation and presenting partners: Premier Beverage, Vibe Las Olas, Bacardi, YOLO, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Broward Health-Chris Evert Children’s Hospital, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, Miami Children’s Health Foundation, Daoud’s Fine Jewelry, Holland America Line, Lauderdale Marine Center, Ed Morse Automotive Group, The Harry T. ABOUT JESSICA JUNE CHILDREN’S CANCER FOUNDATION
Muvdi founded JJCCF on the heels of tragedy after the loss of her only child, seven-year-old Jessica June Eiler Muvdi, who suffered from an aggressive form of leukemia. Recognizing that when a child has cancer, it often becomes difficult for a family to make ends meet, Muvdi set out to ensure that families caring for a child with cancer would have access to basic necessities. Recently diagnosed with cancer herself, Muvdi joins the children of the Foundation for the fight of their lives. Yet, in the wake of her own battle with the illness, Muvdi is determined to continue to raise money for the children and their families that JJCCF supports and those who the Foundation will touch in the future. Donations of any amount can be made directly at www.JJCCF.org.
