DGF donated a  $40,000 Custom Standing Power Wheelchair to Isabella Valle;  with special guest Champion Race Car Driver Emerson Fittipaldi

To celebrate the incredible support the Darrell Gwynn Foundation receives from the auto racing and collector car community, the foundation held an “Evening with Emerson,” a spectacular night of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, silent and live auction, and an opportunity to meet two-time Formula One World Championship and Indianapolis 500 winner, Emerson Fittipaldi. In addition, guests had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness a life change as we donated a custom power wheelchair to an individual living with paralysis. The event was hosted by RockWithU Entertainment and was  presented by Ferrari-Maserati of Fort Lauderdale. All proceeds from the event  benefit the Darrell Gwynn Foundation whose mission is to support people with paralysis and prevent spinal cord injuries.
“Our events are always a ton of fun for our donors and friends and this one  definitely continued that tradition,” said Darrell Gwynn, president of the Darrell Gwynn Foundation. “We have a national Wheelchair Donation Program and we help people and hold events across the country, but we are a South Florida based organization and my family and I are all South Florida natives. Most of the children that benefit from our wheelchair donations and Education & Prevention Program are right here in South Florida. It means a lot for us to come together with our local community for this celebration.”
That night, the Darrell Gwynn Foundation, on behalf of the donors and supporters, gave the gift of mobility to 18 year-old Isabella Valle by donating a $40,000 custom standing power wheelchair. Isabella, who is diagnosed with cerebral palsy, is in need of a standing power wheelchair and was denied by Medicaid. DGF and its supporters provided her with the gifts of mobility, freedom and independence at the event.
