A Safe Haven for Newborns Celebrated Thirteen Years of Saving Babies’ Lives at their 3rd Annual Gala on November 9, 2013

On Saturday, November 9, 2013 the 3rd Annual “A Wonderland in Safe Haven” Gala took place at the spectacular Trump National Doral Miami to benefit A Safe Haven for Newborns, The Gloria M. Silverio Foundation, a 501(c)3.

The gala raised much-needed funds to continue supporting its mission to eliminate infant neglect in Florida through education, prevention and community involvement and to assist pregnant girls & women to realize a productive future. This inspiring evening feature magical butterflies to symbolize a new life, a new outlook and new wings to explore the world. Guests enjoyed a cocktail reception, silent auction, dinner, dancing and a tribute ceremony produced by Events by Vento Designs.

Nick Silverio, Founder, has made it his mission to save the precious lives of newborns from the dangers of abandonment and assisting pregnant girls/women in crisis. To date there have been 202 newborns surrendered to A Safe Haven for Newborns, and they have all been compassionalty placed by Adoption Agencies with families ready to give unconditionally to their new baby.

Silva Harapetian of NBC Miami was the EMCEE for the festivities and livened up the night in celebration of the lives saved by A Safe Haven for Newborns. The event Honorary Chairs were Tom and Ginny Miller of Miller Construction Company. The Honorees were Deise Granado-Villar , Chief Medical Officer/Senior Vice President of Miami Children’s Hospital and Battalion Chief Joel Gordon of Plantation Fire Rescue. A special recognition of the Monarch Award was presented to Kathie Sigler, Retired College Provost and President of Medical Center Campus Miami Dade College.
