23rd Annual Bank of America Wine, Spirits and Culinary Celebration
on March 16, 2018 raised nearly $190,000
for Museum of Discovery and Science.
 

The Museum of Discovery and Science hosted its 23rd Annual Bank of America Wine, Spirits and Culinary Celebration on Friday, March 16, 2018 that raised nearly $190,000 for the Museum. The event was presented by Bank of America and featured over 30 of South Florida’s premier restaurants, fine wines, spirits and a craft beer garden enjoyed by approximately 1,500 guests and all proceeds benefited the Museum.

The highlights of the evening were tastings from over 30 of South Florida’s leading restaurants, and a vast array of wines and spirits from around the world, courtesy of beverage sponsor Southern Wine and Spirits. Plus, there was a wide assortment of craft beers to sample in the Beer Garden sponsored by City Furniture. Visitors had the opportunity to bid on some amazing silent auction prizes, which included: an Apple Watch, a stay at the Sonesta Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel, Miami Marlins game tickets, plus gift certificates to many local area eateries, and several wonderful gift basket choices. In addition, each guest in attendance received a complimentary wine glass.  Ellen Jaffe, from EASY 93.1 was the emcee for the evening.

Guests voted for their favorite restaurants and the 2018 “People’s Choice Award” winners:

This year’s co-chairs Sal Ferradas of Bank of America, Elliott Flynn of Wells Fargo Advisors, Glen Grimes of Go-Tilt Construction and John Magee of Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits kicked off the event at 5:30 p.m. welcoming V.I.P. Platinum Tasting guests to the event with premium cusine, in addition to exclusive access to the Platinum Lounge. Grand Tasting guests began their culinary adventure at 6:30 p.m., followed by the After-Party Lounge, sponsored by JetBlue, where guests continued to enjoy additional culinary delights and danced under the stars to a live DJ.

Museum president and CEO Joseph Cox said, “The Bank of America Wine, Spirits and Culinary Celebration was an amazing blend of sampling, science and socializing. Special thanks to our title sponsor Bank of America and beverage sponsor Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits.”

ABOUT THE MUSEUM OF DISCOVERY AND SCIENCE

The mission of the Museum of Discovery and Science is to provide experiential pathways to lifelong learning in science for children and adults through exhibits, programs and films. Founded in 1976 as The Discovery Center, the nonprofit facility serves approximately 400,000 visitors annually.
